Life has been dealing my family a bad deck since 2007.
I don't like to dwell in the past, so I won't get into it, but we had one beautiful thing happen in March of 2007 (Rooney) and unfortunately it went down hill after that.
We are a family-we stick together, through thick and thin, and rough and easy, but the rough is getting rougher and the easy has pretty much gone away.
Fast forward 2009...
Life is still moving on, but the last 2 days have been extremely trying.
Last night we found water in our basement. Not a huge deal to most, but it hit us hard. Money is very, very tight right now and the deductible is more than we ca come up with at this exact moment. (Please read this for what it is-a fact, not a pitty statement.) There is a lot that needs to be done in a small amount of time and we just can not do it.
We have good insurance, but unfortunately-the cleaning crew knows this and wants to get as much as possible-it's horrific!
On another note, I received an email from the woman I used to Nanny for almost 15 years ago.
We keep in contact, as much as we can with my 3 kids and her 5.
She is a wonderful Mom and woman. The kind you try to compare yourself to, but know that you can never be as good (in a great way). I love her and her family. They were and still are so good to me.
She emailed me that she wanted to call, but couldn't get to it (as is always our case), but sent an attachment for me to see. I was so excited to open it, since it's been awhile, I open it to find out that her second oldest son had passed away. I am in complete shock and utter sadness. He had an accident while he was away at school.
He was in 2nd grade when I started nannying for them. He was 21 when he died. How do I look at this family ? How do I tell them that I am sorry for their loss? Words can not express, my sorrow or feeling of loss-I can not imagine how they are moving on. The world will be less one good soul. Cha-you will missed.
